I love this size panel for plein air painting. 9x5 inches is the size the Australian Impressionists like Arthur Streeton used with their cigar pochade box.

This piece forms part of a collection of paintings created on retreat in the rural north-east of Tasmania. Tasmania is full of natural beauty and it felt impossible to capture everything I was inspired by. This collection is my humble attempt.
Each morning I would wake up and paint the sunrise. This piece was painting on the third morning. I went to a new location but in the dark I wasn't completely sure of the dark shapes until the light appeared. The bales of hay were painted as a tree initially and I couldn't figure out why they tree was so round until more light had emerged.

The painting has been finished with a light coat of protective varnish. All photographs have been taken in natural lighting and all attempts have been made to represent the correct colouring - however variations are possible between different digital screens.
Please allow 3-5 days to be shipped. In some cases if purchase has taken place shortly after the piece was completed more drying time will be required. Most pieces are dry within 5-7 days. If the weather is not hot it can take a few extra days. Please take this into account with shipping times.
