From the "En Plein Air" Exhibition where fellow Artist Leisl Baker and I spent two days painting the Sunshine Coast en plein air and then took the inspiration back to our studios to create bigger pieces.
We spent a beautiful morning under the shade of the cliffs at First Bay Coolum painting the ocean. I painted a study of these rocks in the shade with the waves crashing in the sunshine further out.
While painting this piece I imagined it on a wall in a beach house or unit, acting almost like a window glimpsing the promise of sand and sea not to far away.
Oil on canvas, framed and ready to hang.

Painting has been finished with a light coat of protective varnish. All photographs have been taken in natural lighting and all attempts have been made to represent the correct colouring - however variations are possible between different digital screens.
