Painted on location on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. I lost part of my easel in the water just before I started painting and spent 30 minutes fishing it out with a large stick. Thankfully I was successful. By the time I started painting my fingers were frozen from the cold water but that just made me paint faster which kept the painting loose and painterly. It was a gorgeous morning by the water but I was grateful for a warm coffee with friends to thaw out later.

The painting has been finished with a light coat of protective varnish. All photographs have been taken in natural lighting and all attempts have been made to represent the correct colouring - however variations are possible between different digital screens.
