This piece was painted as part of a painting challenge that I’ve been entering for the last 9 years. For one month I paint or draw daily only from life (no photos).
I wanted to paint some dahlias today but mine aren’t doing too well at the moment. Fingers crossed I get some more blooms in the next few weeks. I gave these apples a go with a new bowl gifted from a friend. I procrastinated all day about getting to my painting and once I got started I just loved being in the studio pushing paint around again.

Paintings are finished with a light coat of protective varnish. All photographs have been taken in natural lighting and all attempts have been made to represent the correct colouring - however variations are possible between different digital screens.
