Twice a year I participate in the "Strada Easel Challenge" where artists around the world spend the month painting only from life (no photographs). I've been painting in this challenge since 2017 and have found it to be a great work out for my painting practice and a great way to start the year.
It’s now Feb and I’m still enjoying painting from life “almost” everday.
I picked up these Dahlias from the flower market today. I’m pretty sure they are the same variety I’m trying to grow in my garden. The colours are so delicate I decided to paint them very simply in soft lighting.

The painting has been finished with a light coat of protective varnish. All photographs have been taken in natural lighting and all attempts have been made to represent the correct colouring - however variations are possible between different digital screens.
Please allow 3-5 days to be shipped. In some cases if purchase has taken place shortly after the piece was completed more drying time will be required. Most pieces are dry within 5-7 days. If the weather is not hot it can take a few extra days. Please take this into account with shipping times.
